Users of SuiteCRM and SugarCRM CE have had to forgo a formula calculation function for a long time. With SweeterCalc, diligent some time ago developed a module that allows the use of formulas and calculations when executing workflows. With SuiteCRM version 7.8, diligent has donated the source code from SweeterCalc to SalesAgility, the developers of SuiteCRM. SweeterCalc was thus integrated into the SuiteCRM core product and became an integral part of the solution. To users who want further functions around formula calculation, diligent offers a premium version of “SweeterCalc”.

Functions in Detail

Non-field variables
This function allows users to check formulas in temporary variables and then use them in other formulas. This will be helpful in reducing formula complexities.

Formula editor
Using the formula editor, users can select different functions and insert them into formulas using one click. In contrast to the manual input of formulas, input errors can be avoided with complex formulas.

Custom functions (for administrators only)
Administrators have the ability to define custom functions that can be used in formulas. Example: There is currently no cosine function in SweeterSync. When a user needs this function, he can add it as a user-defined function and use it in a formula to calculate the cosine of a number.

Installation

SweeterCalc comes as an installable package, so its install procedure in SuiteCRM’s module loader is identical to other packages.

  1. Download the zip from your Purchases
  2. Unzip the file. It will contain the documentation along with the installable zip
  3. Install the included zip in SuiteCRM using the Module Loader
